The prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai is currently a hub of creativity, wonder, and admiration with the simultaneous exhibitions of ‘Aetheria’ by celebrated artist Mini Suboth and ‘Shringar’ by renowned sculptor Dharamaraj Rampure. These captivating displays of creative brilliance invite visitors into a world of visual enchantment, where nature, landscapes, and the essence of feminine allure take center stage.
Mini Suboth, an alumna of prestigious institutions including the Cine Art Institute in Kerala, the Fine Arts Institute in Trivandrum, the Abstract Painting Academy in the United States, and the Bold School in Canada, presents ‘Aetheria.’ Her artistic journey, characterized by continual growth and exploration, has resulted in a collection of mesmerizing paintings that celebrate the wonders of nature. Through her brushwork, she guides art enthusiasts on a captivating voyage into the intricacies of our world.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Mini Suboth is a dedicated philanthropist, using her time and resources to uplift the lives of those in India’s underserved communities. Her commitment to social betterment echoes the depth and compassion evident in her art, forging meaningful connections between creativity and human experiences.
Dharamaraj Rampure, a sculptor who inherited his craft from his family, including his father and brother who created intricate sculptures of deities, presents ‘Shringar.’ His artistic journey began in the heart of Solapur but led him to the esteemed Art Society of India, where he earned several prestigious degrees. Despite starting as a textile tutor imparting local craft skills, Mr. Rampure’s passion for sculpting led him on a lifelong quest for mastery. At the age of 65, he earned an M.A. in Archaeology and Sociology from Kolhapur’s Shivaji University, followed by a Fellowship in the Sculpture Department and a G.D. Art in Modelling & Sculpture. ‘Shringar’ reflects his desire to inspire art enthusiasts to recognize sculpture as a prominent and timeless form of artistic expression.
The opening ceremony of ‘Aetheria’ and ‘Shringar’ featured distinguished guests, including Dr. A.R.K. Pillai, the Founder President of the Indian Development Foundation, along with Dr. Narayan AB Iyer and Shri. Arun Mahadev Kshirsagar as Guests of Honour.
These two art exhibitions, hosted at Gallery No.4 of the renowned Jehangir Art Gallery in Fort, Mumbai, are open to the public from October 16th to October 22nd, 2023, between 11 am and 7 pm. ‘Aetheria’ and ‘Shringar’ bring together the beauty of nature and the grace of women, celebrating the fusion of artistry and natural splendor.
