India’s classical arts reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage, serving as a vital link to traditions passed through generations. To celebrate this legacy, Kalanand Kathak Nritya Sanstha, recognized by the Maharashtra Government, organized the event ‘Bharat Ke Sanmaan Mein – Nrutya Pushpanjali’ on the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagruha, Thane.
The event also marked the launch of ‘Kathak Darshan: Part 2,’ an insightful book by India’s renowned Kathak artist Guru Mrs. Bhavana Lele, further enriching the resources available to Kathak enthusiasts and practitioners, made possible with the support of Artion’s collaborative efforts.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Nrutya Pushpanjali featured captivating solo Kathak performances by Kalanand’s Visharad students—Tanvi Wagh, Nidhisha Salian, Aparna Acharya, and Charitra Lakur. Their expressions and artistry were beautifully complemented by the live accompaniment of Devendra Yadav, Shrirang Tembe, and Dr. Himanshu Ginde, leaving the audience deeply engaged.
The ceremony was graced by a performance by Guru Bhavana Lele, whose graceful recital was a moving representation of Kathak’s timeless elegance.
Dr. Vinayak Sahastrabuddhe, former president of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Mr. Milind Ballal (Chief Editor, Thane Vaibhav), Mr. Hemant Wagh and Mrs. Ratna Wagh (Directors, ABBS, Pune) along with Mr. Narendra Lindait (Founder, Artion), and Mr. Sagar Nipunage (Founder, Kalasagar), together unveiled the book at the event.
Speaking about her latest publication, Guru Bhavana Lele remarked, “This book is designed for anyone who admires Kathak—whether a beginner or someone advancing their skills. It presents Kathak’s timeless appeal while staying true to its traditional roots.”
‘Bharat Ke Sanmaan Mein—Nrutya Pushpanjali’ served as a celebration of India’s cultural wealth and a call to preserve classical art forms. Guru Bhavana Lele’s efforts to promote Kathak, supported by Kalanand’s focus on encouraging young talent, were evident throughout the event.
The ceremony also featured insights by Mr. Hemant Wagh, founder of ABBS, who accentuated the value of introducing performing arts into school curricula. He stated, “Performing arts are an essential part of our heritage. They purify the mind, body, and soul, much like yoga. It is our duty to treasure and preserve this 2000-year-old art form for future generations.”

ARTION'S ROLE IN ADVANCING THE ARTS

The event also drew attention to the role of Artion, a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting art forms from across the globe. By bringing together artists, enthusiasts, and professionals, Artion has created a collaborative space for learning, networking, and growth. Under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Lindait, Artion aims to consistently provide opportunities to emerging and established artists through strategic courses, webinars, and events.
Artion played an integral role in both the 2015 release of ‘Kathak Darshan: Part 1’ and the current launch of ‘Kathak Darshan: Part 2,’ handling the designing, printing, and promotional activities. By providing such resources, the forum continues to serve as a cornerstone for artists, helping them connect with wider audiences and expand their reach.
Through its innovative approach, Artion bridges traditional art forms with modern platforms, fostering appreciation for Indian classical arts across diverse groups.

SPEARHEADING THE HERITAGE OF INDIA’S CLASSICAL ART FORMS

The event highlighted the value of nurturing Bharat’s classical art forms and ensuring their relevance in modern times.
With platforms like Artion backing the cause of Indian classical arts, these timeless forms are set to thrive, connecting with hearts and minds across ages and cultures, and leaving a legacy of grace and inspiration for years to come.
